How we work with IFAs
Our Panel IFAs work closely with us over a range of products that Catalyst Housing offer, providing support and input to both applicants and staff. A panel IFA's role is to carry out financial assessments for applicants over a variety of schemes, with continuous involvement until the case is completed.
Responsibilities of an IFA
A Panel IFA's responsibilities include:
- Ensuring that the product is affordable and sustainable for the applicant
- Ensuring that the applicant is eligible for the scheme
- Ensuring that all necessary documents have been seen, verified and where relevant, copies forwarded to Catalyst Housing
- Completing and providing accurate scheme calculators to Catalyst Housing for individual applications
- Providing up to date lending criteria advice to both applicants and Catalyst Housing staff
- Managing client expectation on timescales and processes
- Maintaining up to date in depth knowledge of all products
- Attending Homebuy Shows, bulk viewings and other events to provide face to face advice and support to applicants
- Signing an SLA for all of the above
Non Panel IFAs are not authorised to carry out initial assessments, or to submit scheme calculators, but can provide other financial advice or services should the applicants wish.

- Affordable homeownership industry experience
- Size and scope of operation
- Area of operation
- Current work and links to RSL/public sector bodies

Catalyst's panel of IFAs and Solicitors is reviewed on an annual basis at the start of the financial year. We reserve the right to review our panel at our discretion.
Please note where we already have an adequate number of providers in a specific geographical area we are not likely to accept additional providers.
